Created originally as a home remedy for personal use, Annie Bassin actually created a delicious refreshing drink to be enjoyed at any occasion.
Enjoy the complex aroma of fine tea and the punch of the essence of ginger. This is not a drink for the timid. In my house, it is drunk from shot glasses for reasons that will be obvious. Others add hot water for a refreshing tea. Creative types concoct memorable mixed drinks based on Annie’s creation.

Stories To Savor
This is a story that explores why anyone with a good job and not insane would start a business. It is risky, lonely, exhausting. Ambition, money and independence do not seem to be the entire answer for most people.
A mix of nature and nurture makes sense. Take Annie. Her story starts with a problem. All her life, Annie kept catching colds. Bad ones. The kind that make you feel like a useless zombie. Over the counter meds made her feel worse. She was desperate for relief and started experimenting to find a home remedy.
She ultimately developed a home brew elixir that tasted great. She realized that the more of it she drank, the fewer and milder her colds. Problem solved!
Being a creative person is an important element to Annie’s story. That creative streak caused her to go to art school and have a career as a graphic designer. She also posses a big dose of perseverance. For those that do not know about art schools, it is a tough way to spend your college years. It is a four year apprenticeship with long hours and little sleep.
Living in Brooklyn is also important. She talks about the creative community all around her. Creative types are always, well, creating. Launching a business is not so strange when everyone is acting on new ideas.
Most of us struggle to truly understand what drives any of the life decisions we make. Humans are only superficially rational beings. Lots of things contribute to any decision. In Annie’s case it was a combination of a need, an element of her personality and the community where she lived.
